Pastor Tommy Moment

Pastor

Elder Tommy Moment, Sr. was born on January 28, 1961 to Deacon Snelling Moment, Sr. and the late Hattie Mae Moment.  He is a native of Thomson, Georgia.  He was educated in the McDuffie School System and graduated from Thomson High School.  After graduating from high school, Elder Moment participated in various vocational and instructional seminars needed for advancement in the field of contracting.

 

Elder Tommy Moment, Sr. was saved and filled with God's precious Holy Ghost in the year of 1982 under the leadership of Apostle Joseph Minter.  Under the leadership of Apostle Minter he was reared into a way of holiness.  He later joined the House of God Church of God in Christ in Thomson, GA and served as an Elder under the leadership of Bishop Mark Walden.

Elder Moment was appointed Pastor of New Joy Church of God in Christ in  February of 1994 by Bishop Mark Walden, Prelate of the Northern Georgia Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction.  Elder Moment serves as the Chairman of the South Atlanta  District under the leadership of Administrative Assistant, Superintendent Jim R. Mattox.

Elder Tommy Moment, Sr. is employed at the University of Georgia.  He is married to Missionary Valerie Walden-Moment.  This union is blessed with two sons, Tommy Bernard Jr., Timothy Brian, and one daughter Tiffany Betrice.

Elect Lady Valerie Moment

First Lady

Missionary Valerie Walden-Moment is the fourth child of the Honorable Bishop Mark  Walden and Mother Dorothy Walden. She is a native of Augusta, Georgia.  Missionary Moment attented school in the Richmond County School System and graduated from Glenn Hills High School.  She furthered her education at Augusta College and Augusta Technical College and received a Diploma in Clerical Studies. After completing College, she worked as an Administrative Secretary/ Paraprofessional for five years at

Augusta Technical College and later moved to the Allied Health Science Division of the Medical College of Georgia and worked five years there she  is currently employed with the Clarke County School System as a Paraprofessional. She has been there for eighteen years.

Missionary Moment married Elder Tommy Moment, Sr. April 3, 1993. This union was blessed with three beautiful children, Tommy Jr., Timothy, and Tiffany.  She became the First Lady of New Joy Church of God in Christ February 1994 and works diligently within the ministry with her husband serving as the President over the Women's  Department, Sunday School teacher, Bible Band teacher, Jail Ministry, and a Special Assistant to her husband.

 

Missionary Moment has a yearning for lost souls.  She is an avid prayer warrior and believe in reaching out to those who have lost their way to bring them back into the fold and covering of Christ.
